Trucking Company Schools!

Company truck driving schools can be a good option for students who have no money. In exchange for a twelve to twenty four month commitment to work for the carrier the trucking company will fund the cost of training you at their company school facility. After training you will work for that company until you fulfill all the terms of this contract.

The downside to company school contracts is there are no guarantees that you will pass the training. If you do not pass this training you will be responsible for the cost of the CDL training you did complete, most times it is due immediately. The trucking company owns the school so they usually put a high price tag on their training if you fail, or do not fulfill your commitment. It is common knowledge that many of these schools overbook their training classes and only pass the cream of the crop.

Recruiters for these types of schools have been known to tell drivers to keep quiet about things like a past felony, DUI, or other disqualifying factors. The recruiters are only looking for a commission and you may get all the way to the end of training and be asked to leave owing thousands of dollars for the training you did complete.

Not only do you have to pass the training, but in addition if you do not complete your employment commitment (work for an entire year, or two at low wages) you will owe for the full cost of the training plus interest. If you do not pay they will put close to ten thousand dollars on your credit report.
